Perpetual Pics of Your Rig

She lives!

Installing the DeepCool AK520 was very easy. I've mostly always used stock Intel coolers and like the satisfying click into place, but this feels way more secure with the metal frame and standoffs, and I needed something much better for the 14700K.

The O11 Air Mini looks really roomy and the airflow seems pretty good, but it was still a little tricky to build in. Getting the mobo screws, CPU power, and CPU fan plugged in took me a while. YMMV if you have smaller hands.

Need to tuck those CPU fan cables away a little better, but it's up and running. CPU 26C idling.

I find that once things are together and running, there is a strong temptation to leave everything alone once the case is sealed shut!!

I recently acquired a s/h Corsair Obsidian 1000D case. I love the design but HOLY SCHMOLY this thing is a MONSTER case. It's freakin' huge. I mean seriously. I had been finalising plans for my new desk and I'm glad now I didn't execute or this would not have fitted underneath! So those plans are being 'up'dated a bit. It also kinda scares me a bit thinking of how much it's going to cost to fill this case. Certainly a very longterm project, but still...

Above is my actual working PC, what I call my Daily Compute Box :) This used to live happily in the corner on the floor where the 1000D is now. After the desk is built, it'll sit on the desk properly. It's not obvious from this picture, but that case is quite large itself.

Well on the bright side it's probably not physically possible unless you start stuffing body parts in there. At least you won't have to worry about fitting a 24" GPU in our inevitable future.

Finally got my new case. It's a big boy! Finding cases with 5.25 bays these days that aren't tiny nightmares is hard. This has ridiculous cable management which makes me happy.

Two M.2's in the front, 4 SSDs neatly connected in their own slots in the back with plenty of space between the rear door and the motherboard tray. Even has room for two full sized HDDs if that's your thing.

Heck finding cases with 5.25" bays has not been common for a while.

Looks good, glad you like it! Any comments/numbers on noise, temps, clock speeds under load?
I have a funny yet really embarrassing story about that...

I have quiet components in my box and this damn thing would ramp up fan noise to the point I started playing Aliens: Fireteam Elite with ANC headphones. I troubleshot every damn fan, every fan curve, did tuning testing for 8 fans.

CPU cooler
https://noctua.at/en/nh-u12s-redux + second silent fan

Three of these for the case

One of these for rear exhaust

Two of these for top exhaust

GPU is a triple fan setup for quiet operation

I could not for the life of me figure out where all of the noise was coming from. Used fan controller apps to turn all of them off but one at a time and ran each full blast. None were making the sound. During the games, I saw that the CPU fan, the case fans, none were running full speed so the crazy sound didn't make sense to me.

Then I freaking realized what it was...

It was the fan in my EcoFlow River 2 Pro cooling the generator. My PC is plugged into it as a pass through and apparently it was warming up pushing the draw through it while keeping the unit charged. I had my screen set to time out. I tapped the button, the screen came on and F me... there's the little fan icon spinning its ass off. It sits a foot from my PC so I assumed the whole time the fan noise was coming from my box.

With the EcoFlow removed from the equation, playing Fireteam Elite cranked up on my first monitor and streaming a movie on my second, the PC is whisper quiet and the fans never even get a good workout.

Latest update in my old Corsair Clear 400C case. Another bad photo as "Cooler Master" and "Gigabyte" both light up in red like the fans. Typical no issue Intel build.

Intel i7-13700K
Cooler Master 240mm AIO
Asus Prime Z790-V WiFi
32GB G.Skill DDR5-6000
Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming OC 16GB

ooooo. Yar, I looked at that one as well, I’ve had most of a mini-ITX build in parts for over a year because like you I absolutely don’t need another PC, but I’m really tempted…

Formd T1 for those who are unfamiliar:
I just upgraded my computer and want to thank tinlad and continuum. I was all set to go with the Fractal Terra wtih a 4070 before seeing this. But then I snagged a 4090 and saw that T1 would let me use the 4090 along with a 240 AIO.

I ordered from the other site, which seems to have come up because the two owners had a split. Also at the time I ordered, the USB C Cable wasn't available, so I ordered a cable from aliexpress and then 3d printed a bracket and hotglued the cable in. A little messy on the inside, but it looks clean on the outside.

The 4090 fits perfectly, and I had to use one 15mm fan for the AIO.

I would have liked the e-white version, but apparently the company that did their e-white coating was shut down for environmental issues, but I'm liking the Titanium and it matches pretty well with my MacBook Pro.

It takes up a lot less space on my desk and I don't have to deal with complicated cabling if I had it on the floor since I use a motorized sit-stand desk.
