How many keys do you have on your key ring?

Car, home, mailbox, work, and like a half-dozen keys to Dad's house.

Theoretically I only need two keys for Dad's house, but for some reason the locks and the keys have worn down in odd ways so that each key has at least one door it should work on but doesn't.

And then there's a Yubikey, if you want to count that.

Not a bad idea, but not something I'm concerned about. I don't have a fake rock or whatever. Other family members that live nearby have keys if I really need it, but I can't remember the last time our power was out for even a few minutes, much less an extended period. It's virtually unheard of.

It takes three keys to get into my dwelling - front door key, second floor key, and the one for my personal room. Then, the single main key for my store and a register key. Five, on an official "remove before flight" tag that my boss (who was a Marine avionics tech) gave me.

Keys? Not all that many, 3 to be exact. Mailbox, my parents home, our front door. There's also a small swiss army knife, a small set of die, an airtag, a transponder for work, a yubikey, a bottle opener one purely cosmetic keyfob and a couple hairties, I don't own a car and my bike uses a combination lock

I hate the idea of attaching a car key to it as well, as that would just be too bulky to comfortably carry, and I say that as someone who routinely wears a jacket with pockets large enough in which to lose a loaf of bread.

Yeah, house I am just leaving a house where I did the same. Over five years it never came up. Plus the opener has a battery backup.

8. Random house key (maybe backup key for friends from before they moved out of the area?)

There are definitely 8, the last one is clearly unnecessary and I'm not sure about 6 and 7. I have a second key ring that's just house, mailbox, bike lock that we let guests borrow / that I take with me when going for a bike ride or just walking to the mailbox; (6) on the main ring is not the same as the bike lock key on the spare ring.

5 for me. House key, mailbox key, Nissan forklift key (will fit any Nissan Lift

), drum key (been on every one of my chains since 1988) and front door key (fob).

None. When I got a car that let me do PAAK, I switched to electronic locks for my house.

Retired earlier this month, got rid of three keys.
Sold the house a couple of weeks ago, there went two more keys.
Sold my car this evening, one more key gone.

Leaving me with….ZERO keys!

I don’t think that’s ever happened before. It won’t last too long, but I’ll enjoy it for the moment.

Once I move into the new house, I'll lose the two apartment keys, and when GF sells her old house, I'll get rid of two more. I should probably take the mystery key off the ring too. That will leave me with only 3 keys, which is less than I've had in over a decade.
