I sat down with the graveyard calculators and such and... didn't have anywhere near the corpses to fully fill out a mega-craft and no desire to trade a bunch of times to get them, so I took the Craft of Exile sequence and trimmed it down to something I could actually do a few of out of my stash (including some row/column effects but not the full-power layouts by far, and making sure they were all connected - I don't thiiiiink that non-contiguous corpses get used?), slapped on as close to 200% chance to fracture as I could get (I was aiming for 2 specific haunted mods fractured to then finish crafting later), reduced the affixes by 1, and yolo'd three attempts... then bought a base that at least had one of the fractures I wanted and resolved to just live-search trade for the rest of the league because I'd rather sit on 100-120d for a base that may never get listed (similar one but triple-fractured with a good-but-useless-for-me third mod has been up for 150d, 120d, and just now down to 100d) than go through that crap again.
Blech. In theory, lots of power, but I had more fun krangling random crap in Crucible than this, in terms of "lots of power but you personally might never get there" mechanics. Good thing the base game changes included a lot of good stuff.
Aiming for a less specific craft - I think boots are pretty good for making something really solid without as much effort? - seems like the way to go.
