Yeah, read the whole thing, that's what the recyclers are for, from what I read. Doesn't mean design is easy, and it looks like you can filter for quality, which would be important to pull off the quality that you want to move on to the next line.

I foresee some giant Factorissimo usage to pull off and get rid of the lower/no quality parts eventually. Just way over-supply recycling and such.

I briefly dipped into the official forum, and apparently the new fluid system has a lot of people annoyed. "Takes away the challenge" and stuff like that. I'm with you; the old system was janky and sometimes unpredictable as soon as you started building big enough to come even close to the nominal flow limits. All sorts of arcane formulae, plus some stuff like "for junctions, the order in which the pipes were built matters" which is great fun when you're using bots to build large blueprints...

This is why I used this mod. Allowed much larger fluid networks over great distances but has a greater material cost along with needing to step up for distribution and step back down for delivery.

One thing which was mentioned in passing in yesterday's FFF is that between the new buildings, the "quality" upgrades, and the new belts + stacking, bandwidth and production rates have gotten much bigger. The casual mention was that one of the test playthroughs was almost, but not quite, at 1 million science per minute. Which would put it squarely in the range of some of the biggest hundred+ server cluster events. But just running on one dev's computer.

AMD X3D for the win, yo.

Yeah, the new fluid dynamics is going to be a real good thing. Plenty of challenges still, and plenty of modding can make it even more so!
The devs agree that fluids don't need to be "easy" but that things like junction thoughput is dependant on what pipe got placed in what order was never intended and isn't fun.
