Holy cow… so much has changed!
Welcome back. Assuming you stopped sometime after Warlords released:
  • Countdown is an 8-person mission with randomized objectives and modifiers. Most importantly, you can select your targeted loot and matchmake for it. Running on challenging is the fastest way to get a ton of loot.
  • Descent is a rogue-lite mode where you start with nothing and have to face the Nemesis (an NPC that's as strong as you). Rewards from this mode are caches you get on exit. For lore nerds, the comms that drop from the weekly project are worth a listen.
  • The Paradise Lost incursion is a four-person mini-raid with matchmaking. There is a 10% chance of getting the Ouroboros exotic SMG from the chest at the end, but the chest only unlocks once per week.
  • Many manhunt activities are now bounties in mission locations. Check your bounties if you're stuck trying to advance a manhunt.
  • Previous prime target manhunt missions (i.e. "legacy manhunts") can be unlocked by attaining the relevant season level.
  • The Castle is now a full-blown settlement
  • Way too many gear changes to list, but the Strikers rework has made it the meta for weapon damage builds.
Technically, the game stopped crashing for me last season, but yesterday's server maintenance went badly, and they've said they'll need to schedule another extended maintenance to resolve outstanding issues.

Hangfire and I still hang out on Teamspeak, but Discord is fine too. I'm currently playing Starfield, so come find us on TS if you have questions.

(edit) also, I'm kinda curious as to how many clan caches you have to claim.

So the last major thing I remember being added to the game before I left is the raid where you end up fighting a train. I know we attempted it a couple of times unsuccessfully. None of what you listed was in the game that I recall.

I'm also surprised -- and a little disappointed -- that they still haven't increased the stash space. When I left I was 297/300 and that was only having max-one of any piece of gear and they have added a bunch of sets. What do the expect us to do with it all?

I also have no idea what any of my loadouts do. :ROFLMAO:

I think it was 12? I don't remember for sure.

I have additional characters for the inventory space. The devs said they've reached the limit of how much user profile storage they can take up, presumably including any future data needs.

I was wondering if there was a limit to how many caches could remain unclaimed. Guess there is.

The Festive Delivery Named backpack is exclusively available for those who complete the Winter Project chain. After completing the projects, it becomes obtainable through encounters with The Hoarder.

Talent Fireworks Show
Concussion grenades become Festive Grenades.
Hitting an enemy with a Festive Grenade will cause explosions to happen around two other enemies within 20m.
As it's a named backpack, it should provide an appearance mod that can be applied to any other non-exotic backpack.

The scope of changes coming with Project Resolve

Highlights:
  • Open world loot boxes will scale with world difficulty
  • Minor attributes on exotics can be recalibrated
  • Skill mod inventory reworked so you only hold the best of each type
  • Global events reworked to make buffs easier to earn, and more powerful
  • Gear re-balancing to provide larger 2nd & 3rd bonuses
  • Weapon re-balancing, though we'll have to wait for patch notes for details
The non-invaded DZ changes sound good too:
  • The activation time for "Going Rogue" has been increased to 5 seconds from 0.75 seconds.
  • The duration of the first Rogue rank has been extended from 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Players with the Rogue status will be unable to switch loadouts or individual gear pieces for the duration of the Rogue status
Sadly, the work on this has pushed the story DLC to 2025.

For the "Donate supply stash" winter project, interact with this box in the holiday market area just south of the White House
You'll get a token which you then donate to the project. It rewards an emote.
Hmm.. nothing.. do you have to do them in order?

Edit:NM, should have stopped by the projects desk first

Project Resolve PVE patch notes. Remember this is just for the PTS. It won't go live until next season (eta February)
  • Buffed 2 piece bonus from Hana-U and Empress are going to be the new meta for AFK builds
  • DZ projects no longer requiring agent kills should make those more attractive
  • I like the Covert SRS and SRS-A1 weapon damage buff
  • Carbine 7 dropping with any talent should make people happy
  • Addition of Exotic and Named Item caches to the NSA vendor is a fantastic change
  • No longer able to change gear items while in combat
And not that anyone cares, but there are separate PvP patch notes

The boss only shows up at night

These are a huge hassle. I've tried to find this boss (and the Hatter boss) multiple nights and if you show up too early the boss just doesn't spawn. It's just a huge pain in the ass.

Finally got it. Fast traveled at 9:00pm

Watched an Incursion video - I never realized Sledgehammer was so strong, as I don't really use grenades..

We should toss a grenade and use Lefty [or at least one of us?] at the Arch spot. +40% DtA. Add Opportunist and you could really crank things up..

Tempted by a Spotter+Opportunist+Striker build, but a little concerned about being tissue paper.. or maybe a skill rolled striker set, so I can offer tier 5 healing skills..

Or if hanging at the gate.. my skill tier sniper build to hit the little one.. max hzd, with a lot of explosive resistance.. wonder if I still have those pieces from when I was messing about with Legendary Summit levels
