I was already planning a ramp in Enigma, but I do not have the firepower to hold off Team Norway. I'm going to run here for a month or two, so anyone should feel free to join in.

I've been helping to push - 12 core Mac Pro running 24x7.

recent average is 3,996.73

I notice that Ars Technica is the #2/#4(monthly) at this time. :)

Enigma@Home is a wrapper between BOINC and Stefan Krah's M4 Project. 'The M4 Project is an effort to break 3 original Enigma messages with the help of distributed computing. The signals were intercepted in the North Atlantic in 1942 and are believed to be unbroken.' [read more] You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.
Enigma entered the Vault in early May, 2009.

Ars is presently in 17th place, 2 positions ahead of TN.

Homepage and Boinc URL is http://www.enigmaathome.net/ .
Reviving the old Enigma@Home thread. A week ago we moved from 34th to 33rd place. Today we moved up again, to 32nd. Closing in on 31st (TN) but it'll be slower going after that.

It's an enigma why we've been neglecting this project. We're in 47th at the moment but I'm hoping that we're going to be making some gains. Discovered today that they have new GPU apps for both AMD and NVidia. All things being equal AMD is the faster so dropped my HD7950 card on it. Looks like that'll be good for around 450,000 credits/day if the work holds up. The point is, if you have an AMD GPU that's looking for something to do, Enigma just might be the ticket.

We're now in 23rd place. I'm moving most of my GPUs to Enigma from Amicable as we're up to a very solid 2nd place there. Setting up NVidia machines for Enigma is a bit more work than AMD. They say for Windows 7 that you need to load the x86 Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable:

For most of my machines I had to load BOTH the x86 and x64 versions (and reboot) to make it work. Still, I had a box or two that wouldn't cooperate.
