While the women's world cup is still ongoing, the new season is almost upon us. How's everyone feeling after pre-season?

Any predictions?

Who will be the first manager to be given the boot? Who will be the first manager to receive a card for their sideline antics? How often will Brighton receive an apology from PGMOL? Is Richarlison the new Kane?

While Arsenal should mount another title challenge, we have Champions League football, so the chances are slim. We might be able to nab 2nd again, though I expect the gap between us and the chasing pack to be much closer.

(edit 2) for future reference, predictions from BBC pundits and Opta

Trying to watch Leicester City has become a pain in the ass. Also, I have no idea who half the teams are in the Championship and how good they are. Off the top of my head I only know Southampton, Norwich City, Blackburn (who share the trait with Leicester of being relegated after winning the Premier League), Leeds, Watford, and Sunderland (of ‘Til I Die fame.) Oh, and I guess Coventry, who Leicester beat last Sunday. Yay. Predictions has the Foxes one of the favorites to get promoted this year and I hope that turns out to be the case.

In other news, auf wiedersehen herr Kane!

Some of the kits are going to be a feast for the eyes this season. The Liverpool and Man Utd away kits in particular :poop:
Just got a chance to look over some of the kits. While a couple are absolutely eye aching to look at, most are the rarer third jerseys. But um… I realize I don’t have the keenest eyes, but did Aston Villa, Burnley and West Ham split the cost on the same jersey and just heat transfer their respective sponsors on?

Visited Leicester City’s website and lo and behold they have a streaming service. I am 90% sure someone here, probably Grom, said they did but it didn’t sink in. Roughly $175 for the season, but I might do the game to game single payments as I can’t catch every game due to work obligations. And, frankly, some simply don’t interest me. I mean, WTF is QPR?

Also picked up my 4th LCFC jersey. Do I need more than 2? No. But the away jersey is the original black with teal sash and it is much different from the other 3 I have! Home is the standard blue and white that I already have and the 3rd is some bleh tangerine thing.

I am an Ipswich Town supporter and QPR is our opponent this week. I'll be watching on ITFC's new streaming service which they brought in house after several years on EFL's iFollow service. At first they charged International subscribers £19.99/month for streaming but a few days later offered an annual subscription for £170/year.

This is an exciting time to be an ITFC supporter. We got promoted to the Championship last season after four years in League One. Near the beginning of the 21-22 campaign Ipswich was purchased from the dreadful Marcus Evans to an American group that includes owners of Phoenix Rising FC in Arizona. The greatest thing they did was look for a new manager and have appeared to find their man in Kieran McKenna. He was Manchester United's first team coach under both Mourinho and Solskjaer and started around Christmas of 2021. Since taking over his record is 47 wins, 23 draws and 12 losses. In 46 league games last season they scored 101 and gave up 35. I love the style of play McKenna has brought to the team. They are constantly pressing even deep in their offensive end. They always play it out of the back and very rarely will the GK punt from the back (GK punts move I despise and have never understood). And they never sit on a lead.

Our first season back in the Championship has started well. We beat both Sunderland and Stoke, who are both favored to be in the promotion playoffs. Let's see what we can do with QPR Saturday morning.

I’m pleased we’re getting points on the board early, the effect Europe may have on our season can only be guessed at so having a cushion is helpful.

Weird game yesterday, Wolves were actually quite good but for a ten minute period in the second half where we just delivered the coup de grace . Molineux is odd in that the corporate boxes are right above the away fans section. This chap wasn’t taking the defeat well… Nor were these… but it’s disappointing our lot took to goading them. Mind you, the Wolves fans are supposedly adults. [edit 1] They were very balanced on their forum tho’ so fair play.

Top of the league! Oh my giddy aunt.

[edit 2] Well done Spain & commiserations England. Terrific tournament.

London Lions (basketball)
British Basketball League

Yeah, the second article linked goes into that. The author didn’t have a high opinion on their handling of most of the clubs thus far, though most have been under their full ownership for only a year or two.

Nothing's changed at the Spanish Federation I see:

TL;DR - they've called up a bunch of players who've said they're boycotting the national team, and threatened them with the loss of their playing license if they don't show up. :rollpoop:

[edit] for the record, this was eventually settled, albeit with some tension still.

8-0  For those unaware, the largest shellacking in the Premier League currently stands at 9-0.
Code:
    Biggest home win: 9–0
Manchester United 9–0 Ipswich Town (4 March 1995)
        Manchester United 9–0 Southampton (2 February 2021)
        Liverpool 9–0 Bournemouth (27 August 2022)
    Biggest away win: 9–0
        Southampton 0–9 Leicester City (25 October 2019)

Low key surprised Newcastle didn't go for it.
