A Perpetual Picture Of Your Car Thread

Okay, so "Post a picture of your car" threads are mostly something we used to do but not now so much. Nonetheless, I'm starting one. It may die a quick death, but I'm hoping it'll hang around a day or two or three at least and get some traction.

No surprise, I'm still driving my NSX every day. Almost 7 years now, over 80,000 miles. There was an exotic car show here yesterday so some of us local owners got together and paraded around a bit then found a miraculous block of parking right on the edge of the show. It was quite a nice morning. My car at the end.

So, trot out the pictures you've taken since the last time we had a thread like this. I think it's been a year or two at least, so I know there's some pics.

I'll post half of them, since I haven't taken recent pictures of the other two. Not that the second one is all that recent, I suppose...

I should hate all the flare I got out of the second picture but for some reason I like it. I'm not sure why.

Oh, and I'm a little envious of the 135i. That may be what fills the role of daily driver after the Mustang...

Nice rides so far.

This is my 2004 G500 post a little camping in PEI (I kinda use this as the stock photo of it). Its my North America road trip vehicle so usually gets out on 18,000km jaunts (currently on one now) a couple times a year. This is with the tent on that I can camp in when it is 'popped' up. At the moment its off to save gas mileage as I don't tent in the winter.

Its pretty much as fast as heySkippy's NSX as you can see here :p

In reality, it has a suprising amount of pep and sensational brakes.

I am not going to soil this thread with my salt-caked cars, but here are what I have handy.

1994 Firebird, of DoD fame. Bought with 79k km on it in mid 2009, currently sitting with almost 90k on it and being driven on nice days by my brother until he finds a truck that he wants to buy.

And my daily driver is a 2006 Saturn Ion quad coupe 2.4L. Pics are kind of old, from back when I bought it in fall 2010. Bought with 64k km, now has 76k.

One of the better ones from a recent autocross. Love, love, love this car.
This is awesome. I love the story of how you've resurrected that car to glory.

I don't have any shots of my car in 2012. I meant to take some pics of the shenanigans that my buddy and I had last weekend, but I forgot. At almost 30, I'm still not mature enough to own this car.

I just had a whole thread on this, but I still love my new car, so:

2012 VW GTI 5-door with DSG, bells and whistles. It's obviously no NSX, but its 200 bhp is enough better than my little Scion xA's 105 bhp was for me to feel like I'm driving a sports car. Ten years ago, I would have laughed at the idea of becoming a hatchback guy - now I wouldn't have it any other way.

It is sweet looking. How is the interior?

Lots of design details, quality leather, a few tasteful carbon fiber accents. Two-tone leather/fabric seating. I would put it up against a TL, A6, or 5 series in most respects. There are really nifty little bits of adornmnent, like the fact that when you shut it off, it plays a little tune and then you see a car drive across the dash screen flashing a message "Thank you, see you soon." When you turn the car on, it makes another little happy tune, then runs self-diagnostics.

I did not get the nav package or sunroofs, primarily because the two packages required to get them tack on another $5k, and more realistically because the only one on the lot that had both was black...and I don't like black cars. (OMG that's racist!)

According to what I'm seeing from both on-board reporting and anecdotes from folks at the dealership, I can expect about 26mpg out of the 2.0L twin-screw Turbocharged engine. It has an eco mode which may boost that up a bit, but I probably won't use it. Why? Because this thing puts out max torque of ~270ft-lb, in a flat curve from 1750-4500 rpm. Basically, the juice is almost always there when you mash the pedal. There is *slight* throttle lag at lower RPMs.

It can definitely use better tires that what they put on it at the dealership. When I was playing around while driving it home, I could get some noticeable wheel hop under hard acceleration. The traction/stability control quickly brings it under control...but what if I turn that stuff off? ;) (accomplished via an easily accessible button)

The stereo is decent enough, but I'm not really qualified to say that, based on recent lounge threads. (IIRC it's an Infinity system...bluetooth, MP3, sirius, CD, etc)

Phone pairing was absolutely painless, took maybe 30 seconds, and the car was smart enough to download my phonebook as well (a feature that was stated but never successful in my 09 Murano)

The keyless entry is intuitive. I expect that nowdays. Just press the button and as long as you have a key on your person, it opens. At night, when you walk up near the car with a key on your person, it turns on the dome light for you to help you see.

There is more than adequate head and leg room (I'm 6'4 and 300ish lbs). The seat bolsters are nice and supportive without being overdone.

I'm still having to get used to getting 'down' into my car again, after driving crossovers for the last 9 years...but I'll get used to it I'm sure.

Overall, this car is a serious value for what you get in terms of comfort, amenities, and performance. With incentives, it's well under $30k. (under $27k in my case)

This is the Kia Optima SX...and thus far I'm really loving it.

In a thread where there's the Uber-Audi, a pair of BMWs, an NSX and a classic Ford pickup, I like this car a lot more than I ought to. The Koreans have figured out that the way the Japanese got into the US market is to do it better for cheaper, and they've even managed to make 'em look pretty good, too.

Ok, I'll play. Here's my 135i
I keep waiting for one of my friends down here to buy one and take me for a spin. I like the size.
It's a lot of fun. Enough that I bought another after my first one was killed. The 3 series is indeed too big. I like my small cars.

It's a great daily driver. Good mix of sporty and comfortable. I have no complaints from my 20k miles/year.

I love seeing a vehicle like that covered in dirt. Good job on properly using one of them.

Thanks for the writeup scary clown. It's a sweet looking car, and it cost new, only about $1,000 more than I paid for my used STi. But that was failry well modded, tuned, with a spare set of rims/snows, and a new, very well installed head unit, speakers, sub enclosure and amp, as well as a few small appearance mods.

Here is mine, a 2008 STi, which I've had for about nine months. My mechanic had her on the lift last week, and I didn't think to snap a picture of the exhaust work that had been done. He checked out the ease of install for some sway bars for the Spring. It's an easy bolt on, so she is going to be a tad livelier in the twisties soon.

Dude, did you move to NH? If so, we need to get together and hang out much, much more frequently.
