First Dwarf: building and exploration by day, monsters by night... isn't that familiar? (demo available)

    Star Drifters is the studio behind Driftland, and I believe First Dwarf is set in the same vaguely steam-punkish flying islands universe. The building and exploration by day, monster attacks by night thing is reminiscent of Fortnite: Save the World. The mech and the dragon (ala Assassin's Creed's birds), less so.

    I've been playing the demo for about an hour, and it's fun. No idea how much depth there is yet.

    Anybody else tried it, or grabbed it in early access?

    Fair, but it doesn't play like minecraft at all. Way more structure (story, map, gameplay), drastically different art style.

    Looks intriguing. Sort of an open world resource harvester to build free form tower defence?

    What I've played in the demo isn't really open world. And yeah, you're free to build your towers where you want, but the things they need to defend are where the writer wanted them, in the sequence they wanted them in.
