Gaming deals, half price caplets

This is the new and improved (by which I mean not broken) gaming deals thread. This is the old thread.

Post here if you find a good deal on Steam, Amazon, any other web store, or a brick and mortar (if they still exist). Whenever possible, post a link, a price, and the game title.

Some discussion of the games on sale is natural, but don't hesitate to take it to another thread as needed.

Traditionally, major sales (Steam summer/winter, mostly) will get their own dedicated threads.

I suggest that even though the Fallout games are on sale with Steam, that people may consider waiting for a sale at GOG - or just buying them there. Steam does not care if an old game does not work with your system, and I have yet to find a game from GOG that does not work with whatever system I run it on. I will never buy a game that is greater than a few years old on Steam, again.

Just happened to see this today.
For the X-Box 360
Three game bundle for $30 from Walmart
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Xbox-360-Buy- ... e/20700837
I don't know if this is a regular thing they have / so far I haven't seen anything that says it's a time limited sale.

Basically you're presented with two lists that you can select or remove listed games from the lists.

Pick two games from this list
  • Alpha Protocol
  • Backyard Sport: Sandlot Slugger
  • Bakugan : Battle Brawlers
  • Bakugan : Defenders of the Core
  • Batman : Arkham Asylum - Game of the Year Edition
  • Blood Drive
  • Brutal Legend
  • Cabela’s North American Adventures
  • Cabela’s Outdoor Adventure 2012
  • Call of Duty 3 - Platinum Hits
  • Crackdown 2
  • Dreamcast Collection ( Four games; Crazy Taxi , Sonic Adventure, SEGA Bass Fishing, and Space Channel Five : Part Two )
  • Duke Nukem Forever
  • EA Sports MMA
  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • Hannah Montana : The Movie
  • Kinect Game : Party In Motion
  • LEGO Batman
  • LEGO Harry Potter, Years 1-4
  • Lost Planet 2
  • MindJack
  • Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
  • Plants vs. Zombies ( w/ Peggle and Zuma )
  • Pure Futbol
  • Rapala Pro Bass Fishing
  • Shaun White Skateboarding
  • Shrek Forever After
  • Sing It
  • Sniper : Ghost Warrior
  • Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing
  • Soul Calibur IV
  • Morph X
- - -
And than select one item from a 2nd list which from what I can tell has the same games as the first list above but also these games...
  • Blue Dragon
  • De Blob 2
  • Dead Rising - Platinum Hits
  • Driver : San Francisco
  • Kinect: Deepak Chopra Leela
  • Kinect : MotionSports : Adrenaline
  • Lost Planet : Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition - Platinum Hits
  • Lucha Libre Aaa Heroes Del Ring
  • Shadowrun
  • Venetica

Best wishes on finding some games you and or someone enjoys. :)

My first post in the Deals thread, so hopefully I'm Doing It Right™.

For the three or four of us who hadn't gotten around to playing Halo Reach yet (and prefer to buy our games new), it looks like Microsoft dropped the MSRP from $39.99 to $29.99 in advance of Halo 4 this fall. NewEgg has it for $27.99, and Amazon had it as low as $25 this weekend, although it's not showing as available direct from Amazon, LLC anymore. (but there are lots of resellers on Amazon who do have it for between $25-$30).

GameStop is trying to sell it used for $39.99. Good luck with that.

Gamestop/Impulse has Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes on sale for $3.74. Activates on Steam, so you don't actually need Impulse.

its back to 10.99 now =( very sorry i missed it.

Steam is already saying I have it, even though it doesn't show up.
Is Counter-Strike: Condition Zero a part of Counter-Strike to begin with?

Indie Royale has posted their Gone Fishin' bundle. I'm curious how the games are. SOL: Exodus and Cubemen look interesting.
Sol: Exodus has a demo available on Steam. I can't say it did much for me, though. YMMV. As part of a bundle with the other games, it might be worth it for some, though I suspect if I get the bundle, it'll just be several more games that sit around not being played. :scared:

For those like myself that haven't acquired Battlefield 3 yet. September (abouts mid to late depending on where you are), - Battlefield 3 : Premium Edition - for around / probably a little more will come out for $70.

:D

I've been monitoring prices for Battlefield 3 hoping it would drop to the $25 mark so I can hop on and get the $50 Premium deal add on. But with Battlefield 3: Premium Edition ( BF3 + Premium add on), according to this video ( http://youtu.be/MotA8QF85q0 ) it will include a kit to help get faster access to unlocked gear.

Personally I'm either way with the kit, I like earning my gear BUT.. hey, to paraphrase Forest Gump a little less "something to worry about". :) Anyway I regret lots for not getting BF3 sooner, I wasn't sure about the hard-drive situation but turns out I would have been okay and just been playing with the lesser resolution version. So it's now nice to have this to look forward to. ( slight bump though.. last night my Xbox 360 had some audio issues.. which might not be a big deal as I normally play with audio off due to my living situation. But.. if it's something I can't resolve I may have to wait longer.)

Here's Best Buy's sale page: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage. ... p=15&iht=n

Lots of good deals, but a lot in store only.

Yeah, I went into mine, it's very bare in there these days, and lots of used copies of games. They had Singularity, but I decided to hold off, Rayman was sold out, so nothing for me.

Of special note- SpaceChem and Uplink are tablet-only on Android.

I wish I noticed that before buying. Bah, so much for playing SpaceChem on the go :( Oh well, I don't regret giving more money to a good indie dev.

Anyway, they have a new "Humble Library" feature where you can make an account and have all your games from the various bundles listed on one page. Works on Android too. I recommend signing up.

Space Chem is not only Android only. It states that it isn't compatible with the Nexus 7 because it wants a screen over 5"... yeah. I just thought I'd toss that out there.

Uplink states the same but at least it wants a screen over 7"

Installing both now. We'll see how they work.

Edit: Spacechem runs fine. Not in the mood to do more than launch Uplink atm. But it does launch and give me the intro.

Oh I know it runs on Win/Mac/Linux. Between Steam and previous Humble Bundles I have at least 2 copies of the game already ;) I was just hoping it would run on my phone... which honestly would probably require a serious overhaul of the interface or at least some clever tricks to make it playable. So I'm not terribly surprised the Android release is just for larger tablets.

So, Ubisoft turned Uplay into another digital games storefront, rather like EA and Origin. Over the next 4 days, the following games will be $1 (1 game each day):

HAWX today
From Dust on Friday
Silent Hunter 5 Saturday
Driver: San Francisco on Sunday

They're also doing up-to-75% off deals on other Ubisoft titles.

I personally avoid Ubisoft PC titles if I can help it, and even $1 price isn't enough for me to install their client. But I thought I'd share for those who aren't bothered by Ubi and want a deal.

I dunno if this counts as a deal, but I somehow randomly acquired a Steam coupon for 75% off Portal 2 (final price $5 in my region), expires 8/30. First Arsian with > 100 posts or > 1 year of membership or is-a subscriber who PMs me gets it.

Pretty sure everyone on Steam got that coupon. :)
