New DC-Vault project and as usual it bumped us out of the DC-Vault lead again. It's Yafu: http://yafu.myfirewall.org/yafu/

"YAFU is a alpha project, which main goal is
to test the latest BOINC server code for bugs, please report any error which you find in the webpages in the forum
to factorize numbers up to 140 digit length which are needed to bring Aliquot Sequences to a size of at least 140.
to test the latest versions of YAFU."

We're currently in 39th place (1,533,365 Yafu credits) for a total of 8,347 out of a possible Vault 10,000 points, so it's by far our worst project at this point.

Yafu news and suggestions. We're off to a good start as we passed 3 teams yesterday to jump from 39th to 36th place. Today we passed another for 35th place. After a little experimenting I have some suggestions. Do NOT limit cores per machine as it seems to cause some cores to be left unused. Allowing all cores works well. For instance: if you have a machine that allows 15 cores it will generally get 8 core WUs and will use the other 7 cores on other projects. I have had no WU failures yet. Note that sometimes WUs can sit at 100% for hours as BOINC can't predict them well. Just leave them run. Even if the WU exceeds the deadline you'll get credit for WUs submitted up to 10 days late. Credit varies wildly as Yafu runs the latest BOINC server build and thus latest credit scheme. You'll get winners and losers but it should all average out and some of the winners are gigantic creditwise. So if you're a gambler at heart this may be the project for you. I also notice that Ryzens are particularly good at Yafu. The top 2 machines and 5 out of the top 15 machines are Ryzen based.

Yafu currently scores a whopping 43.4 Vault points per place.

Any feedback or corrections to this are encouraged.

Brought all my remote machines onboard here, locals are still going to run POGS for now. Should be a nice bump regardless.
Very cool. The high scoring WUs tend to be 16t and 8t, so if you have enough cores you might want to set those to be preferred in project preferences.
I'm not sure about the 32t WUs as I don't have any machines that can run them. All in all the Ryzens seem to be particularly high scoring. :)

Six days later we're in 27th place (2,919,679 Yafu credits) for a total of 8,869 Vault points. We still have a long way to go.
Another 11 days and we're now in 19th place (8,213,432 Yafu credits) for a total of 9,217 Vault points. Whizbang is going wild. :)

I just brought a bunch of AMD hardware online to crunch Milkyway
For the Gridcoin team?

Yep, I've been with Gridcoin for just about 1 year now. Will have 6x AMD cards on Milkyway once I get the FirePro working. Also have a Titan Black to bring online as well, once I setup the cooling loop for it (bought the card with a EK waterblock already on it). Titan Black has fairly strong FP64 as well. about 50% better than the 280X cards)

Progress update after another month and a half: we're in 9th place (23,416,476 Yafu credits) for a total of 9656 DC-Vault points. Whizbang is still going wild. :D

I had my first WU hang last week. Had another one that looked hung a couple weeks before but it continued after I restarted BOINC. But then you're running at a lot higher volume so you'll probably see more stuck WUs. If the BOINC slot directory files are updating then it's good to go, even though it looks stuck. Interested in going a week or so past 25 mil so we can take 6th?
