Dynamic Collage Wallpaper, does this exist?

I have a large ultrawide monitor and I would love the ability to set a directory of images and have a wallpaper that swaps them in and out dynamically. Does this exist? I can't believe that I'm the first person to want it but my googling just takes me to tutorials on how to create a collage.

Does this make sense? Is this technically feasible in Windows?

That is built into Windows. You can just tell it the folder to use for wallpaper and how often to change it. It's not a 'collage' like multiple images at once, you can have it sort of stretch them to fit, tile or whatever.
I can change them, sure but I want something more than that. Closer to the old Mac screen saver that would add pictures in. A single image stretched to an ultrawide is terrible. I can make a bunch of collages and switch between them but that's a lot of work.

There are tons of free applications and online services to generate the collage images for you, most in a fairly decent way. If you are willing to accept a randomized collage generated without your input for a wallpaper switcher, it should be about the same results from a few minutes of work to grab some images at random and make collages and then set them as the wallpaper for Windows.

For a fully automated option, I don't know of any. There are screensavers like that but not desktop background generators.

Sad to think Prompt Engineer being a real job demanding more money then actual programing because some moron will hype it up so much.

But Like the 3rd link of what i typed in came up with this which sounds like what you want.

Of course not built into windows. But at least it is automated.

Good find! I tried it and it should work though it can take a good while to make a collage from a folder of a lot of large files. I thought it was crashed or something for a while but after a few minutes it finally kicked in and made an image.

So yeah, it worked... though I have to say that I prefer making the images myself. The results I got were not really enjoyable, just a mess of pictures that would normally be nice for a wallpaper but now shrunk down to way too small to see properly and all jumbled up. Instead, I made some of my own 'collages' of classic and beautiful movie posters and promotional images stacked side by side for a wide screen, dual screen layout. Works great, though it took an hour or so getting them stitched together the way I wanted.

I'm going to try it today. I may hate it but I like to see a variety of images and I have a lot of screen real estate to work with. I may just realize the background is always covered by windows anyway.

Yes to that last bit as well. Mine is always full of windows but I find it a good stress reducer to simply click that bottom right corner now and then and see something nice once everything flies away. :D
Yes very much that. I do photography as a hobby and I like to see my images to remind myself that life isn't just toiling away at my computer...
