I have been using TunnelBear for a probably 5 years now - but it simply isn't good at getting around region content locks. So for instance, I'd love to watch a video on CBC in Canada (where TunnelBear was created iirc) and nope, CBC is no go from overseas. If I can't get around region blocks, it really doesn't do anything for me more than the free tier of say ProtonVPN for 'hiding' what you streamed. I am tempted to pay and try ProtonVPN as they have loads of servers in Canada (etc) that may be more likely to sneak by content locks.

Anyone with any recommendations?

As someone who helps run a datacenter, streaming services block our IPs all the time for no reason. Like, watching Hulu or Netflix on a lunch break can be a real pain sometimes. :D
Usually you can just ask them to unblock the IP and insist that it is not a VPN or whatever, it's just your office IP. It might take a phonecall or two.

For actually getting access when you're 'not supposed to', I think it is just a roll of the dice to find a service that works to reach what you want to reach. I haven't heard of hardly anyone having a good, long-term experience with any particular VPN Proxy service. They all eventually have some kind of issues that seem to drive people to keep looking for something better.

I use Proton VPN, and just tested CBC. After creating a free account, I am able to watch all local channels.

Interesting enough, its always great to be able to access other countries TV, in case something interesting is going on there. Hopefully good stuff, and not "may you live in interesting times, Chinese curse" times. ;)

Hi. I don't use one, but a friend of mine swears by ExpressVPN.

My favorite VPN spoofer for today is ExpressVPN. This provider comes with 3,000+ servers in 94 countries and 160 locations worldwide, making for a huge server fleet that screams “spoofing!” In addition, we’re looking at a provider with unlimited bandwidth and the fastest speeds.

As always, YMMV.
