Want a new 13-15" laptop - wait for Snapdragon Elites?

Hey all! It is time for a new laptop and my budget is up to $1300 USD.

Is there a consensus on whether it pays to wait for the new Snapdragon Elite machines or go for an existing Intel or AMD laptop?

I don't know whether I will want to use the Copilot + stuff but I can imagine that MS will just keep adding cool features down the road, some of which could be useful. I also love the idea of potentially 15+ hour battery life (plug in every other day) that could come with the new ARM machines. Probably my biggest worries are about emulation of programs that have not indicated they will compile for ARM. I know we are hearing good stuff re emulation, but who knows?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

If you want one now, then you can't wait. If you want a 15+ hour laptop, a Mac might be a good choice, or you can wait for the Arm based Windows ones and see how the reveiws look. There are a handful of Windows laptops already on the market that can do 15 hours or similar. https://www.tomsguide.com/reviews/asus-zenbook-13-oled-review-an-excellent-value

Copilot and the other stuff will not make much appreciable difference to most people and it will function on virtually any PC from the last 10 years just fine, it's going to be driven largely by stuff done over the internet.
