Recommendations for Basic Fitness Watch/Band

In an effort to motivate myself to exercise more, I'm looking to get a basic watch or band to track my jogging/hiking/swimming.

I used to have a Huawei watch and liked it for the most part. So functions like sleep tracking is nice to have but not essential.

Since I mainly use an IPhone and don't want to spend much money on this, I'm thinking of a used Apple Watch.

Any other recommendations? Thanks!

Any reason why you wouldn't go with a Huawei or Xiaomi? Amazfit has some pretty good offerings too.

Apple Watches require more frequent charging when you use it for activity/fitness tracking. A lot of my friends gave up on their Apple watches because of the daily charging. Just something to consider. Otherwise I think you can't go wrong with an Apple Watch.

As a bit of anecdata, I got my wife an Amazfit watch and it works great for her so far. Decent screen, movement and sleep tracking are decent and notifications work well enough. It's not as good as a Samsung or Apple watch (or Google watch, I would guess) but it is basically as good as her Fitbit that she had before.
Thanks for your reply!

I'm thinking of just getting a used Apple Watch as my requirements are pretty basic.

Worth mentioning that the AppleWatch SE is regularly on sale for under $200. As I type this, Amazon has it for $189. Yes, that's probably still quite a bit more expensive than something like a basic fitness band, but it gets you a current-generation AppleWatch with a full warranty and new battery for basically the same price as an older, used Apple Watch 7 or 8 on Swappa.

Thanks! Definitely one of the options I'm looking at.
