Prebuilt recommendations ~$1000

I'm looking for pre-built recommendations for someone else. Sadly, they aren't up to build their machine. They've specified a budget of ~$1000 USD, maybe up to $1200.

The best promise so far:

The "buy it and upgrade the RAM" option:

The "it's a better brand but suffer in RAM and storage option":

From an hour of browsing, I'm incredulous about how horrific the price range is. Minimal DDR5-6000, most systems are scraping by on 16GB of RAM, undersized 512GB SSDs as main drives. That's not even including the systems a little lower in price range that are still running DDR4 and want the same premium.

Between amazon/newegg/ibuypower, finding a 7600 + 3060 + 16GB of DDR5-6000 is nearly impossible without shelling out like $1500. I'm astounded at how much last-gen hardware is still peddled at for high prices. Maybe I'm spoiled by Microcenter bundles, but it just seems like prebuilts are a wasteland now that GPUs aren't being scalped.

16G really isn't that bad. You can do pretty much anything with that. Yes, 32 is nicer, but 16 is pretty adequate.

512G, OTOH, is pretty skinny, especially when fast, former top-tier drives like the SK Hynix P31 1TB models are about $100.

For 1440p high framerate, you'd want something at least 3070 class. My 3070 does ~110fps at 1440p with near-max settings in most games. Getting to 144Hz generally required some quality reductions.

Just mucking around a little with your first link, an alternate option turns up this:

That's a 14400F with 32G of RAM, a 2TB SSD, and an RTX 4060, which should be pretty comparable to a 3070, for $1129.

edit: because SSD quality is going down, I'd recommend adding a spinning drive to that system and using it for backups.
