Palit RTX3050 KalmX 6GB GDDR6 HDMI DVI DP

Mine just arrived from The Netherlands. Fully passive, new model (6GB), GeForce RTX 3050. Its a single slot GPU, if you don't mind the overhanging heatsink.

TechPowerUp Review Fanned Model NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6 GB

Will stand-up to 1080p gaming performance with features like ray tracing and DLSS. Not a barn burner GPU, but small, capable enough, low powered, and quiet.
🤫

I'm going to be using it in a small form factor, low power and noise, box I'm working on.

First time ordering from “grooves.land”. Price for this “hard to get” part in the States was very low when purchased. (Its higher now due to Euro/$ exchange rate.) Delivery time was 3-weeks with Free Shipping. That was a bit longer than a trip to MicroCenter, but I was in no hurry. Otherwise, I’d order from grooves again, for parts not easily or cheaply found in the States.

Folks at Ars are still building: small form-factor, low-power, low-noise boxes? 🤔

I thought they were all building Monster God-Boxes with: GeForce RTX 4090's,
12x 5+Ghz cores, Hydro-CPU cooling, 64GB of RAM w/ 2x DIMMs, 1KW PSUs, a half
dozen, roaring 200x30mm fans all in a panzer-grey, E-ATX case? Otherwise they had hipster
MacBooks or offshore manufactured, no-name, laptops? 😉

That looks like a 2-slot cooler, before you attach any case fans (looks like the fins have notches you could hang one from like a CM212, or older Scythe Ninja I had.)

It also looks like it's expecting some decent front-to-back airflow through the case. Interested in how your build goes if you want to share pics and details!

Its 40mm (1.6") in width. You're right. Its a "double' slot card.

Eyeballing it, the heat sink looks like it could easily handle a 120mm fan. Although, zip ties might be called for.

Well anyone who has done this sort of thing back in the days where you could buy passive radiators for a lot of mid range video cards knows that you have to have case airflow.

I haven't done this in SFF cases but in huge ass cases with 12-14 cm slow fans. Works pretty well there.
